McKenzie Transportation is a bussing and transportation company located in the D.C. Metro Area. MAPS, Inc. provided them with a variety of accounting, finance, and I.T. support services as well as business development and related support. Our staff reviewed and analyzed their current accounting and finance policies and practices as well as their I.T. network structure, systems, and procedures to identify potential weaknesses and areas for improvement. We provided concrete, actionable recommendations for improvement and streamlining as well as provided assistance for follow through on implementation and measurement of actions, as requested. For their I.T. structure we provided recommendations on updating their Local Area Network and related software as well as their corporate office hardware. In addition, we located, researched, and recommended potential new projects as appropriate including reviewing online sources, newspaper articles & announcements, word of mouth recommendations, etc. When a potential new project was selected by McKenzie, MAPS, Inc. assisted with background research, proposal and presentation preparations, staff recruitment and hiring, contract finalization and related set-up, as requested.

Dodge mobile marine services 

Dodge Mobile Marine Services, headquartered in Maryland, provides marine maintenance to yachts and other boats of varying sizes at several marinas throughout the D.C. Metro area.  MAPS, Inc. currently provides a variety of services to this small business including payroll processing, client invoicing, and insurance support services as well as recruitment and selection of new staff as needed.

Lains Auto Services

Since 1946, the ASE-certified and factory-trained technicians at Lains Auto Services, located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C., have offered expert diagnostics and repairs on all makes and model passenger vehicles and light trucks. MAPS, Inc. provided financial support services to LAINS including general accounting, bookkeeping, invoice review, and auditing services.

Atkins global

Atkins is one of the leading engineering and design consultancy firms in the world. MAPS, Inc. provided Atkins with a variety of accounting and finance consulting services including review and analysis of current Accounting and Finance policies, procedures and systems to identify potential weaknesses or areas of improvement. We provided concrete, actionable recommendations for improvement and/or streamlining as well as assistance for follow through on implementation and measurement of actions as requested.

Our team provided expertise in indirect rate development in accordance with the American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO) guidelines for companies with state and local government clients. We also provided recommendations for overall structure, training of Accounting and Operations staff on requirements, and most effective methods to maximize cost recovery.

Penhall Company

Penhall Company provides services in the Concrete area, including demolition of concrete structures such as buildings, roads, and bridges.  They utilize saws and grinders to cut concrete either horizontally or vertically, and/or smooth it out.  Their other main service is core drilling, drilling a hole in a concrete structure from a couple of inches wide to almost a foot across.  MAPS, Inc. provides general accounting and financial support to assist Penhall in transitioning to a new cost accounting methodology.  Additionally, MAPS provides information technology support to ensure that the new methodology is properly implemented into the Penhall information management systems.  Our personnel provide assistance in improving current processes as well assist with the introduction and development of a new job-costing concept. Training on the new processes and systems will also be provided.  MAPS supports the Job Cost Transition project by providing Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) support in the development of the test plan and report generation in the new system.

PARSONS CORPORATION

Parsons Corporation provides support on projects throughout the world in diverse markets of engineering, transportation, environmental/industrial, and defense/security.  The MAPS Team provides consulting to their Infrastructure and Environmental Division in Washington, D.C. in the form of business development, proposal management, writing, and production among a variety of other support services.

COAN RIVER MARINA

Coan River Marina, located in Lottsburg Virginia, near the confluence of the Coan River and the Chesapeake Bay, provides boat and yacht dock slips and is currently under new ownership and management.  The MAPS Team developed and manages their website and network, and assists with other communication issues.  In addition, marketing and promotion support is provided on an as-needed basis.
